From the beginning, I wanted to give as many heroes as possible the chance to take a swing at the big blob. As you have probably figured out, there are a number of large SGs who are raiding Hami regularly; however, aside from a pick-up raid here or there, it can be hard for heroes not closely affiliated with one of these large SGs to get in on a raid.
Due to the difficulties and other issues involved in running raids of 150+ heroes (for example, the client limitation of only drawing about 100 hero/mobs at a time), I'm not going to be running huge, preplanned open raids. I will, however, do my best to get you involved whenever there's a raid in the works. Here's how to get an invite:
1) Join the Hami Bound global chat channel. This chat channel will not be used to announce raids (necessarily), but it will give raid organizers an easy way to see who's online and interested in raiding Hamidon.
2) Make sure that that I know who you are. You can do this by posting your global chat handle, your character names, and their archtypes/powersets in this thread.
3) Remember that you need to turn on Global Chat each time you log on (using /chatbeta 1). If global chat is not on, you won't be on the global channel.
Basically, most of the raids I'm involved in are very impromptu -- the coordinating staff that I've met has gotten good enough at what they do that we don't need a whole lot of advance preparation. At that time, I'll take a look at the Hami Bound list and invite people who are interested until the raid is "full".
Note that although this is aimed at heroes unaffiliated with large SGs, it is in no way limited to them -- all heroes are invited to join Hami Bound to express interest in raids, and all coordinators are invited to use that channel to find other players interested in raiding.
Please understand that it may take a few weeks before you get an invite -- although there are a lot of raids, there are only a few that I'm helping coordinate, and depending on how many people are interested in joining, there may or may not be enough room for everybody.
Additionally, the following should go without saying, but past experience has taught me that some things should be made explicit. I expect everybody on one of my raids to behave before, during, and after it with maturity, understanding, and respect for their fellow heroes. The usual rules of the Pinnacle Hamidon Raid Group apply. Success is not guaranteed, although everybody is expected to be pulling as hard as possible for a victory. Griefers need not apply and will be petitioned as necessary.
Also, if you see me leading a raid against Hami, drop me a tell and I'll try to find a spot for you. I do have a general policy of not adding people to the raid once all the mitos are down, though, mainly because I believe that it's not fair to the people who have put in all the time and effort of taking out the mitos. Exceptions can be made, so don't be afraid to ask me, but also don't expect to be asked to join at that stage, either.
This goes for any friends you may have that you want to join in the raid, too. If you have a friend who wants to join in, refer them to me, and all of the above will apply to them as well. (Specifically, if it's before all the mitos are down, I'll try to find them a spot. If it's after all the mitos are down, it's highly likely I'll ask them to stay out of it.)
Finally, it will be easy to get on my personal invite list, but if you can't follow orders, misbehave, or just generally make the experience unpleasant for people, I will feel no remorse over removing you from it. Just in the interest of full disclosure, there is also a disinvite list, but it takes a considerable amount of effort to get yourself put on it. Also, all of this clearly only applies to raids that I'm running -- if I'm just a participant in a raid, I'll try to direct you to the raid leader.
